He often cracked jokes, usually a sarcastic remark (or more likely, several). The second thing that comes to my mind is how fun he was. That was something he was very good at: inspiring people to work together. When I was working on my python decompiler he created a script for checking how good the results where, it made everything much easier for me and it felt nice to be working together.
